"Pull your socks up, guys"

Dear all:
After having read the article (which I hope you did!), you'll have to agree that this piece of news is apalling. We are all aware of the critic condition of Education in our country for the past 40 years. However, when we are faced with the facts (Test Inicia) we can't help having mixed feelings about the future of our country.
This post is based on the article you read and your opinions, neither on its own.

Reflect on the following:
What are the main points of the article you read?
As an ex school student. Do you feel identified with the reality that many children experience at school today (referring to the teacher's quality)? Why? why not?
Regarding those responsible for the current situation. Who do you feel is to blame for the "unqualified teachers" teaching today?
As a future teacher. Do you think you'll be different from those teachers who cannot give answers to the students? How? Why? Why not?
What concrete actions are you taking today to become a "good" teacher in your area of expertise?
After your readings on policies and reflections on educational practice, what can be done to change the educational reality in our country?

Write a minimum of 270 words (today, Wedensday). And at least 3 comments on your classmates blogs by Thursday. This task wil be graded on its own.

GREAT WEBSITE!!

Dear students:
Do you know any brilliant English learning websites? I do. It's the BBC, and it rocks.

Today task is to visit:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/worldservice/learningenglish/

Take a look around, You can have a look at "wordmaster", words in the news(this is a great category to check world news, learn vocab and listen at the same time), pronunciation, face up to phrasal (very appropriate) or even watch the flatmates(soap opera) , "beat the keeper", to name but a few. (Use the headphones to listen)
this is a great opportunity to practice.

Write a review of the site of at least 190 words, please. Your opinion on the site in general. Specific activities.

Don't forget to post comments on at least 3 of your classmates AND the teacher's
